Tell crawlers which catalog pages to index
Magento’s default robots setting is store-wide. Sellable products should usually be INDEX, FOLLOW. Thin categories, test SKUs, and duplicate listings should not. SEO NoFollow Index writes the robots meta on product and category pages — a store default, then a Follow Meta Tag override per item.

Where it applies
Product view and category view
The observer sets Magento page robots on catalog_product_view and catalog_category_view. CMS, search, checkout, and other handles keep Magento’s Design / HTML Head robots unless you change those separately.
Product Follow Meta Tag
Catalog → Products → Search Engine Optimization. Overrides Product Settings for that SKU.
Category Follow Meta Tag
Catalog → Categories → Search Engine Optimization. Overrides Category Settings for that category URL.
Store-view config
Defaults can differ per website / store view. The product and category attributes are global.

Look for the robots meta on the live product or category page after cache flush.
Use it / leave it
Catalog robots — not a full SEO suite
Use it when
Products and categories need different robots- Index live products; noindex discontinued or test SKUs
- Noindex thin or duplicate category pages
- You want one default instead of editing every SKU
- You already use Magento SEO fields and only need robots control
Do not expect
It does not rewrite robots.txt or the sitemap- No CMS-page or custom-URL robots
- A category setting does not push noindex onto every product in that category
- No per-domain dofollow / outgoing-link rewriter
- No canonical, hreflang, or schema markup

Install
Enable Emmo_SeoNofollowIndex and run setup:upgrade.

Set defaults
SEO No Follow Settings → Product and Category = Index HTML page, follow links (or your policy).

Override SKUs
On a test or duplicate product, Follow Meta Tag = Do not index HTML page, do not follow links.

Flush
Clear Magento cache (and FPC / Cloudflare HTML if you use them).

Confirm
View source on that product and a normal product. Robots should differ.
