Shoppers guess tins, then buy too few or too many. Paint Calculator Pro sits on the Magento product page. They enter a room size, or wall length × height, plus coats, openings, and waste. The panel returns liters, units to buy, and an estimated total, then can copy that quantity into Add to Cart.
Coverage from the tin. Units from the SKU.
The work is done in square meters and liters. If the storefront is set to ft², values convert automatically. Units always round up, so the customer does not run short.
10 m²/L · 2.5 L tin
one unit covers 25 m²
2 units (5 L)
2 coats and 10% waste
more units, same SKU
Area, walls, or both
Stores → Configuration → Emmo Extensions → Paint Calculator Pro. The default input mode is Both. Shoppers use Magento validation, and the panel can open expanded or collapsed.
Liters, buckets, and a price. Then the Magento qty field.
Coats run from 1 to 5. Waste comes from the list you set. Openings take doors and windows off the painted area. Apply quantity copies the units into Magento’s qty field. They still click Add to Cart.
One unitA 50 m² room, 10 m²/L, and a 2.5 L tin: one unit covers 25 m², so the room needs 2 units (5 L).
Coats and wasteTwo coats and 10% waste raise the unit count. The SKU stays the same.
Units and litersMath runs in square meters and liters. A storefront set to ft² converts automatically. Units always round up.
The priceThe estimate uses Magento’s final price, including a special price and the tax display.
How they describe the room
Single areaThey already know the m² or ft². One field: the area to be painted. Fast for trade buyers who measured the room.
Length × heightWall length × wall height × number of walls. Doors and windows are deducted when openings are enabled.
BothThe shopper chooses. This is the default, and the better fit for mixed retail: DIY uses dimensions, trade types the area.
What the panel asks
Coats 1–5The default comes from store config, or from Recommended Coats on the product. Primer is often 1. Wall paint is often 2.
Waste %A dropdown from your list. The usual set is 0, 5, 10, and 15. Effective area grows so they do not under-buy.
OpeningsSubtract doors and windows from the painted area. The number of walls multiplies length × height.
Apply quantityCopies the calculated units into Magento’s qty field. They still click Add to Cart. This needs the default Magento qty field.
What you set on the product
